This site is my foray into writing in the fantasy genre. I’ve loved fantasy since I was a kid. A kid who half of the time played within the confines of the adventures in his head. A kid, when given a homework assignment to write a story of a few pages, turned in a fantasy adventure of at least twenty. No surprises here. I played Dungeons & Dragons at its peak. I read, but not nearly enough (although that’s something I’m actively working on) and have enjoyed J.R.R. Tolkien, George R.R. Martin, Brandon Sanderson, Stephen King and others. I like getting lost in the worlds of fantasy and sci-fi movies.

Growing up, I lost the desire to write. Relationships, career, children, stress and the other details of life have pulled me away. I suspect most everyone can relate in one way or another. I do miss those feelings when I wrote – releasing my mind’s creations onto paper with pencil as my conduit. Submersing myself somewhere other than here. It was almost hypnotic. A meditation.

So now, I journey back while armed with the present. I cling to that youthful vigor for writing with an unbounded imagination, but set forth with a suitcase containing more experiences, improving skills and even a different medium onto which I compose.

I will submit posts long and short, kid-friendly and adult-centric, uplifting and dark, conservative and edgy, with all carrying the same theme of fantasy. I do not want to wander. This genre is my calling and within it I stay. Ideally, as my posts grow, I’ll categorize them in such a way that will help identify the tone or intended audience.

I look forward to reading other posts by writers out there in the “real” world. Whether fantasy or not, there is always something exciting about another’s work of art. Most importantly, I am sure to be inspired.
